In 2019, Dare 2 Be D.E.A.F. launched its first Vision Board Party at Scranton Elementary STEAM Academy. Representatives from the organization helped over 50 students in grade 5 develop goals by stimulating their minds and transitioning their dreams from thoughts to words and images. Vision boards are used to help clarify, concentrate and maintain focus on a specific life goal.

 

A majority of the students had never heard of a vision board prior to the event. However, many of them had big dreams. The purpose of creating a vision board was to help students create a visual representation of their goals. 

 

Following the Vision Board Party, students took their vision boards home. We encouraged them to place their vision board on the wall in an area they would frequently pass. This would be a constant reminder of what they desire to achieve.
